As a dedicated and certified teacher in the state of South Carolina with six years of valuable experience, I am thrilled to welcome you to my tutoring business. I possess both a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Mathematics and a Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership. My journey in education spans across various levels, including elementary, secondary, and higher education, providing me with a comprehensive understanding of diverse learning needs.

Being a South Carolina Teaching Fellow and an active member of the South Carolina Council for Teachers of Mathematics, I am committed to fostering a positive and enriching learning environment for students. Education is not just a profession for me; it's a legacy that runs deep in my family. My great grandfather, Acie Hightower, served as a School Principal in Camden, SC, and my great grandmother, Ruby Kirby Hightower, was a trailblazing English Teacher and Guidance Counselor, making history as the first African American guidance counselor in Cherokee County after the desegregation of schools in the 1960s.

Following in their footsteps, my grandmother, Claressa Hightower Lee, served as the Dean of Students at prestigious institutions such as Tuskegee Institute, Spelman College, and Wofford College. My father, Dr. James Byers, is a renowned mathematician and basketball coach, while my mother, Ruby Lee Byers, holds national board certification and is esteemed in her role as a school counselor. Even my sister, Ph.D. candidate Raven Byers Fox, contributes to education as an adjunct math instructor and admissions counselor at the University of South Carolina.

Passionate about service and giving back, I extend my expertise beyond the classroom. As a certified event planner and coordinator, I plan and direct various events, including weddings, bridal showers, baby showers, birthday parties, and work events. This passion for service also extends to volunteering my time and donating resources to those in need, reinforcing my commitment to making a positive impact on the community.
